In the digital competitiveness
ranking, Kazakhstan is ahead not only of the countries of the region but also
of many countries in Europe and the U.S., having ranked 36th among 63 competing
countries in 2022. It is followed by Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, India,
Poland, Romania, Brazil, Turkey and other countries. According to the
Finprom.kz portal, the fact that the country has been included in this
international IT list demonstrates the authority of the state in digital
development issues. It is noteworthy that Kazakhstan is the only state among
all the CIS and Central Asian countries to be included in the IMD World Digital
Competitiveness Ranking. Such an assessment indicates a high degree of the
country’s development in the field of digitalization, which is confirmed by the
international institute. According to the research, the WDC ranking methodology
defines digital competitiveness based on three major factors such as knowledge,
technology and future readiness.
