Kazakhstan increases exports of new harvest grain by 54%

Kazakhstan has increased its exports of grain from the new harvest. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, from September to December last year, the country exported 3.7 million tonnes of grain, a 54% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Grain shipments to Uzbekistan rose by 44%, to Tajikistan and Afghanistan by over 50%, and to the Kyrgyz Republic by 22%. Exports to Iran via the port of Aktau increased more than 30 times, rising from 14,000 tonnes to 435,000 tonnes. Overall, the Ministry reported that over nine million tonnes of grain cargo were transported in the 11 months of last year, including over two million tonnes domestically and seven million tonnes for export. Notably, in 2024, farmers achieved a record grain harvest, with an average yield exceeding 16 centners per hectare, producing a total of 26.7 million tonnes of grain.
