Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex is demonstrating
steady growth. In the first seven months, gross agricultural output increased
by 3.7% to almost 2.5 trillion tenge. Exports are also on the rise. In 2024, they
exceeded $5 billion, with more than half accounted for by processed
agricultural products. This represents a 43% increase. Grain and flour exports
grew by one-third, reaching 12.5 million tonnes. Such results have been made
possible thanks to systemic government support for the sector, Minister of
Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov noted. He presented the outcomes of the
implementation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s instructions in
agriculture. According to Saparov, the Ken Dala concessional lending
program received 700 billion tenge this year for the first time. 250 billion
tenge was allocated for the renewal of agricultural machinery, twice as much as
a year earlier. Investment in fixed assets of the agro-industrial sector reached
710 billion tenge over the seven-month period. More than 280 new projects are
being implemented across the country, and water-saving technologies are being
actively introduced.
«The Head of State
instructed that water-saving technologies be introduced annually on an area of
up to 150,000 hectares. By the end of 2024, the plan was exceeded, reaching
158,000 hectares. This year, water-saving technologies have already been introduced
on 109,000 hectares. Overall, the area of irrigated land using these
technologies has increased to 580,000 hectares. The implementation of these
state support measures has had a multiplier effect across the entire
agro-industrial complex. As a result, in 2024 gross agricultural output grew by
13.7%, reaching 8.3 trillion tenge,» noted Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov.
