Kazakhstan approves master plan for Almaty Superski resort

Almaty is set to become a hub for winter tourism. To this end, a master plan was developed jointly with Pas Grau International (PGI). At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Kazakh Tourism Development, chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the implementation of the Almaty Superski project was reviewed. It incorporates best practices from more than 120 resorts worldwide, including the use of modern technologies in ski equipment production, satellite data for analyzing climate and terrain conditions, as well as the introduction of green standards. As noted by PGI President Joan Viladomat, the chosen location near the metropolis will ensure a stable flow of tourists, allowing the resort to take a leading position in the region. Bektenov emphasized that construction must comply with environmental regulations and minimize its impact on the environment. Notably, the approved master plan will serve as the basis for preparing the feasibility study and design and estimate documentation.
