Films by China’s CMG will be screened across Central Asian
countries as part of a media partnership. Ten films were presented in Astana, most
of which are documentaries. These films explore China’s history and showcase
its modern-day image. The selection also includes animated films. Before the
screenings, the productions by the Chinese media corporation - which signed a
cooperation agreement last year with the TV and Radio Complex of Kazakh
President - will be translated into the languages of the region. The project is
being implemented as part of the “Cultural Ties-2025” program.
«As a Chinese citizen, I discover things I didn’t know
myself when I watch these films. That’s why I believe it will also be
interesting to viewers in Central Asian countries - offering insights into how
Chinese people lived in the past, how we live today, and what our plans are for
the future. It helps us better understand one another,» noted Wang Bin,
Director of the Eurasian Bureau, China Media Group.
