Kazakh theatre received high praise for its
innovative approach to drama and preservation of cultural heritage at the
TURKSOY festival in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat. The event brought
together artists and theatre companies from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan,
Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic, showcasing their best productions,
including both new works and renowned plays. The festival was dedicated to the
ancient city of Anau, which was named the capital of the Turkic world this
year, and celebrated the 300th anniversary of poet Magtumguly Pyragy.
Participants emphasized how the festival strengthens cultural ties among
TURKSOY member countries and opens new prospects for cooperation.
«The performances were amazing. Each country
presented such beautiful plays, and the way the audience received and
understood them, showing their appreciation through applause, was priceless,»
said Nurkanat Zhakypbai, a jury member and Honored Figure of Kazakhstan.
