The results
of the year were summarized at the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh
Parliament. Chairperson Maulen Ashimbayev focused on the legislative work
outcomes for 2024. A total of 104 laws were adopted by the members of
Parliament. According to Ashimbayev, the approved documents are aimed at
implementing the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as
ensuring the political and sustainable socio-economic development of the
country, protecting vulnerable groups of citizens, and addressing other
important tasks. Around 180 parliamentary inquiries were submitted to the
government on various issues. The Senate Chairperson also outlined goals for
the upcoming year, which include further strengthening the legislative work of
MPs and enhancing cooperation with regions.
«Starting
tomorrow, Senate members will visit various regions to hold meetings with the
public. During these visits, they should pay special attention to the pressing
issues that concern citizens. Additionally, MPs are encouraged to actively
explain the meaning and provisions of the laws that have been adopted. Next
year, the Senate will review the new Budget, Tax, Water, and Construction
Codes, which have been developed in accordance with the instructions of President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev,» Ashimbayev said.
