Today, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting
on the development of artificial intelligence. He highlighted significant
technological changes occurring globally due to the rapid advancement of AI, a
technology that directly influences the development of nations. He emphasized
the need to actively focus on this strategic area now. Over the next five
years, Kazakhstan aims to become a digital state. To achieve this, it is
essential to study international best practices and develop a comprehensive
plan. The Head of State outlined nine priority areas that will form the
foundation of the country’s digital policy. These include integrating AI into
the real economy, public administration, and healthcare, as well as enhancing
the overall digital infrastructure.
«The government, together with the Agency for Strategic
Planning and Reforms, must develop a comprehensive document on advancing AI and
the country’s digital transformation. This effort should involve international
companies and reputable experts. The document must be pragmatic, clear, and
serve as a guide for our future work. It should include a set of specific
measures covering all aspects of AI development and application,» Tokayev said.
