A Swiss company plans to start manufacturing passenger rail cars in Kazakhstan. This was announced at the meeting of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with Stadler Rail AG Group CEO Peter Spuhler, who informed the Head of State about the company's intentions to modernize the plant for the production of railway carriages, use of Kazakhstan aluminum and launch of the full cycle production. Thus, it is planned to increase localization up to 35 percent by 2030, and bring domestic products to exports. The company also plans to set up training centres and establish cooperation with colleges and universities in the country. President Tokayev expressed confidence that this joint project will strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland.
