Kazakh President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat
Nurbek, who presented measures to create a human capital development ecosystem
and launch a comprehensive talent management system. President Tokayev was briefed
on projected workforce needs through 2030. As part of these efforts, the
country is establishing a new higher education preparation system, expanding
access through the Keleshek program and a new sector funding model. The
President was also updated on the national AI-Sana initiative and the launch of
the AI-Enabled University, an industrial university integrating artificial
intelligence into education and production processes. Plans to develop
knowledge-intensive territories, including innovation clusters and science
cities, were also presented. Nurbek highlighted the country’s transition toward
a DeepTech and advanced manufacturing development model. Following the meeting,
President Tokayev issued directives to enhance higher education quality, advance
scientific research, and promote its commercialization.
