Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the implementation of major
strategic projects. Welcoming Bayramov, who arrived in Astana on an official
visit, the Head of State highlighted the importance of the meeting for further
strengthening the multifaceted ties between the two nations. The parties discussed
several issues, including the construction of a fiber-optic communication line
and a deep-sea electric cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea. They also
explored prospects for further cooperation in trade, investment,
digitalization, transit, and transport. President Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan
regards Azerbaijan as a reliable strategic partner and ally. In turn, Jeyhun
Bayramov expressed gratitude for the traditionally warm welcome and highlighted
the dynamic development of bilateral relations. He also extended gratitude on
behalf of President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for the prompt
assistance following the tragic plane crash near Aktau in December last year.
