President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Guohua, Chairman of
the Board of Directors of CITIC Group, discussed prospects for enhancing
partnerships in the energy sector, petrochemical industry, road construction,
and agriculture. Tokayev expressed gratitude to the corporation for the
efficient and early implementation of the modernization of the Aktau bitumen
plant. In turn, Xi Guohua highlighted CITIC Group's interest in jointly
implementing projects to modernize an oil refinery, construct oil pipelines,
reconstruct the Center-West highway, and deep grain processing. The Head of
State emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen business ties
between Kazakhstan and China.
