Non-ferrous and ferrous metal scrap processing plants are to be built in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development reports. Overall, projects will be implemented in five regions across the country, one in each area. According to preliminary estimates of the relevant ministry, the volume of investment will exceed 250 billion tenge. It is expected that these plants will be opened by Kazakh entrepreneurs as well as investors from Central Asia. The industrial workshop for one of the projects is scheduled to launch by the end of 2022, with the rest to be commissioned over the next few years. According to the ministry’s estimates, the total capacity of these production facilities will be about 3.2 million tonnes of steel products per year.
