A
total of 112 billion tenge has been returned to the country’s budget as a result of audits. This was
reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev by the Chairman of the Supreme
Audit Chamber
Alikhan Smailov.
He informed that 18
large-scale audits worth 32 trillion tenge had been conducted over the past
nine months. The Head of State was also briefed on the introduction of an
information system that automates all stages of the auditors’ work. Next year, they plan to conduct about 40 audits in areas such
as support for domestic pharmaceutical producers, investment attraction, road
development, as well as in the activities of Kazakhtelecom and KazPost. President Tokayev gave a number of instructions to further improve state
audit in the country.
