Kazakh
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in an event marking the 30th
anniversary of Lukoil’s operations in the country. Over this period, the
company has invested more than $12 billion in the country’s oil and gas sector,
producing around 100 million tonnes of oil and 60 billion cubic meters of gas.
Lukoil contributes to strengthening the partnership between
«On the Caspian shelf, Lukoil, together with KazMunayGas, has begun implementing the promising Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar projects. These are strategic initiatives. More than $6 billion in direct investments are planned for the development of these fields, along with the creation of over 2,000 new jobs. To increase local content in these projects, shipyards in the Mangystau region will be involved in manufacturing offshore oil production platforms. The company continues its productive work at the Karachaganak field,» Tokayev noted.
The
company also participates in the development of the Caspian Pipeline
Consortium. Notably, Kazakh oil is exported abroad via this route. The Head of
State noted that one of the key milestones in cooperation was the launch of the
lubricants plant in the Almaty region 6 years ago. He noted that this is the
first enterprise in
«Particular importance has been attached to large-scale geological exploration, the launch of projects for deep processing of raw materials, digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, and, of course, investment in people and the social sector. I am confident that Lukoil fully supports these priorities, and that in the future we will achieve new successes in developing our strategic cooperation,» Tokayev added.
