Kazakh President meets Chairperson of Uzbekistan’s Senate

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, to discuss the development of inter-parliamentary relations. The Head of State noted that Tanzila Narbayeva’s visit to Astana is a vivid confirmation of the special nature of the strategic relations between the two countries. For her part, Narbayeva emphasized that Kazakhstan is Uzbekistan’s closest partner and that the country’s leadership intends to work together to achieve results. The parties also discussed expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. President Tokayev presented Tanzila Narbayeva with the Dostyk Order of the second degree.

The stronger, closer, and more productive our relations are, the more peaceful the situation in the region will be.
