President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Tanzila
Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, to discuss the development
of inter-parliamentary relations. The Head of State noted that Tanzila
Narbayeva’s visit to Astana is a vivid confirmation of the special nature of
the strategic relations between the two countries. For her part, Narbayeva
emphasized that Kazakhstan is Uzbekistan’s closest partner and that the
country’s leadership intends to work together to achieve results. The parties
also discussed expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as
strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. President Tokayev presented
Tanzila Narbayeva with the Dostyk Order of the second degree.

importance to developing cooperation with fraternal Uzbekistan. We believe this
is a very important factor in ensuring stability and security in the Central
Asian region. The stronger,
closer, and more productive our relations are, the more
peaceful the situation in the region will be. As for your visit, I consider it
truly significant for strengthening interparliamentary ties, which are an
essential element
of our bilateral relations,» Tokayev noted.
