During a meeting with President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, National Bank Governor Timur Suleimenov presented the
outcomes of work and plans for the coming period, reporting on the economic
situation, inflation dynamics, and measures for its stabilization. Suleimenov
also touched on the fulfillment of Tokayev’s instructions, including the
expansion of financing for the real sector of the economy, implementation of
the National Fund for Children program and projects for the development of the
National Payment System, as well as the introduction of open banking
principles. The Head of State was also briefed on using the potential of the
digital tenge to enhance transparency and efficiency of public procurement and
budget expenditures. The President set a number of tasks for the main
directions of the National Bank’s activities.
