Kazakhstan and Türkiye aim to boost trade volume to $15 billion. This will be achieved through expanding mutual supplies, diversifying the range of goods, and increasing reciprocal investments. Cooperation between the two sides in the economic and investment sectors is of strategic importance, Türkiye’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz noted in an interview with Kazakh and international media. Another factor in deepening bilateral relations is logistics. Priorities include expanding the merchant fleet in the Caspian Sea and simplifying customs procedures.
«Plans are in place to strengthen the Middle Corridor involving Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. In the current context, it is clear that this route is in global demand. Energy is another key area. We intend to expand cooperation in this sector, including increasing the role of Azerbaijan and Türkiye in exporting Kazakh oil to global markets. In addition, there are plans for more active participation by Turkish energy companies in Kazakhstan, from exploration to production,» Yılmaz said.
Significant prospects are also emerging in the construction sector. Kazakhstan and Türkiye have already implemented projects worth over $30 billion. This work will continue, Yılmaz emphasized. He also highlighted the importance of humanitarian ties between the two countries.
«We would like to increase the number of Turkish
schools in Kazakhstan. We see the potential for positive developments in this
direction. We are also proud of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi University in Turkistan.
Today, it has more than 100,000 graduates and around 12,000 students. It is an
institution of a high standard,» Yılmaz added.
