President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a
telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,
congratulating him on the signing of the historic Declaration on the peaceful
settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington. As Tokayev
emphasized, this document was signed in accordance with the principles of
international law and UN resolutions, therefore, it fully complies with the
strategic interests of Azerbaijan and Armenia, and will also promote the
development of broad international cooperation in the Caucasus. As a strategic
partner of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan sincerely welcomes the establishment of
long-awaited peace in the region.
