At the Akorda
Presidential Palace, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with
French President Emmanuel Macron, who had arrived on an official visit to
Kazakhstan. President Tokayev warmly welcomed the distinguished guest,
emphasizing that France is Kazakhstan’s key and trustworthy partner in the
European Union, as well as one of the largest investors in the country’s
economy. In turn, Emmanuel Macron also commended the bilateral relations. The
leaders of the two countries discussed the current state and future prospects
of the Kazakh-French strategic partnership, focusing on strengthening the
political dialogue and deepening cooperation in trade and economic, investment,
energy, transport and logistics, as well as cultural and humanitarian sectors.
“Mr. President, I
would like to extend my gratitude for accepting my invitation and for your
official visit to Kazakhstan. The cooperation between Kazakhstan and France is
developing dynamically, and it is important to provide it with an additional
impetus. Therefore, your visit is regarded as historic and of utmost
importance. I am confident that the talks that are taking place today will be
fruitful,” Tokayev said.
“I would like to
express my gratitude for organizing this visit, which takes place in a
significant year for our bilateral partnership. We will be able to advance on
important international topics, as well as underscore our commitment to the UN
Charter and principles such as territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
We will also be able to discuss key bilateral issues. Our countries are vital
economic partners. Additionally, I would like to note that we will be signing
significant contracts to further strengthen our strategic and economic relations,”
Macron said.
