President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian
President Vladimir Putin participated in the 21st Kazakhstan-Russia
Interregional Cooperation Forum via videoconference. This
year, the event is being held in Kazakhstan, in the city of Oral. The Head of State emphasized the special role of this
platform in fostering fruitful strategic cooperation between
Kazakhstan and Russia, noting that conditions for economic growth and sectoral
partnerships are formed at the regional level. President Tokayev also spoke in detail about the contribution
of skilled workers to the economic development of both
countries. He highlighted the ongoing transformation of Kazakhstan’s
technical and vocational education system, including the introduction of a
mechanism to train students with guaranteed employment and the use of digital
technologies. The President further stressed that the
government is taking measures to enhance the prestige of skilled professions. He noted that high qualification and modern skills of specialists
form the foundation for industrial growth and
technological modernization in both Kazakhstan and Russia.
«On this unique platform, new economic, infrastructure, and humanitarian projects are initiated and then consistently implemented at the regional level. This is very important, as conditions for economic growth and cooperation in industry, agriculture, science, education, and culture are formed in the regions. It is encouraging that the interaction between our countries in trade, economic, and investment spheres continues to demonstrate steady growth year after year,» Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.
«Regional ties are a solid foundation for the entire complex of our bilateral relations. They span a wide range of areas, including the economy, trade, energy, transport, agriculture, digital technologies, and others. Overall, 76 out of 89 regions of the Russian Federation maintain direct contacts with all 17 regions of Kazakhstan,» Vladimir Putin said.
