Kazakh peacekeepers depart for Golan Heights

The third contingent of Kazakh peacekeepers has departed for the Golan Heights, where 139 personnel will serve as part of the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission. The national peacekeeping contingent was ceremonially seen off in Almaty. Previous contingents successfully completed all assigned tasks and received high praise from UN mission leadership. Currently, more than 150 Kazakh servicemen are participating in seven UN peacekeeping missions across the Middle East and Africa.

«Our main task is monitoring the separation line. We carry out these duties through daily patrols, maintaining the ceasefire, providing engineering support, and delivering humanitarian assistance. We, the third national contingent, are committed to completing all assigned tasks to a high standard and returning home safely,» said peacekeeping mission participant Rishat Sadykov.

«For me, participation in the UN mission is a great honor and responsibility. I want to represent Kazakhstan on the international stage and contribute to maintaining peace and security. Our preparation lasted several months and was very intensive. The main goal of our training was strict discipline and cohesion within our platoon,» said peacekeeping mission participant Islamzhan Shamirov.
