Kazakhstan is set to create a unified medical data repository, with development
work scheduled for completion in 2026. According to the Health Ministry, a patient
identification system – Face ID – is currently being introduced in the country’s polyclinics, enabling the recording of patients’ actual visits to doctors. Digital
identification in medical institutions increases transparency and has already
resulted in savings of nearly 10.5 billion tenge in budget funds. Monitoring of the quality of medical services and their payment has been
integrated into a single digital framework. The new module has reduced the number of payment documents from nine to
three. Key business processes, including the procurement and
payment of medical services, have also been digitized. Overall, 92% of medical
care services in Kazakhstan have now been automated, with 100% automation
expected to be achieved by the end of 2026.
