Renowned Kazakh opera singer Maria Mudryak has joined UNICEF’s mission, officially becoming a UNICEF Friend. The appointment coincides with the 80th anniversary of the international organization. The decision to cooperate followed Maria Mudryak’s active participation in the UNICEF Gala Dinner in 2025, which raised 283 million tenge to support the development of mental health services for children and adolescents in Kazakhstan. Today, around 400 UNICEF ambassadors are active in more than 100 countries worldwide, all supporting the organization’s mission on a voluntary basis.
«UNICEF is all about the future, because children are not only the future of our country, but of humanity as a whole. Every child should have the opportunity to grow up in proper conditions. I will pay more attention to the topic of inclusive education, as I believe that every child with disabilities should also have the right to receive an education. At the same time, it is important to provide support to the parents of these children,» said Maria Mudryak, opera singer and a UNICEF Friend.
«And now we have appointed
Maria Mudryak as a Friend
of UNICEF. We see their influence to the society. And they are selected very
carefully. They pass through different screenings,
and that’s the only way that we appoint somebody as a friend of UNICEF, and
next step is a Goodwill Ambassador,» noted
Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, UNICEF
Representative in Kazakhstan.
