A Braille edition of Kazakhstan's Constitution was presented in Astana. The special edition was released as part of a government initiative to make the country’s Basic Law accessible to all citizens. The event also featured a commemorative postmark ceremony marking the updated Constitution. The presentation was held as part of a scientific and practical conference, where participants discussed the Constitution's role in strengthening the legal system, reinforcing constitutional governance, protecting citizens' rights, and ensuring the country's sustainable development.
«I’ve
had a chance to read the Braille edition in both Kazakh and Russian. It’s
remarkable. I’m really happy that everyone in Kazakhstan, including people with
disabilities, will now be able to access the country’s Basic Law. This is
especially important because the Constitution enshrines fundamental rights and
freedoms, guarantees their protection, and ensures equality before the law for
all,» said Kenzhegul
Seitzhan, Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, 8th
Convocation.
