The results of the year were summarized at the Mazhilis, the
Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament. Chairperson Yerlan Koshanov highlighted
that the legislative activity in 2024 has been productive. Since the start of
the year, several important laws have been enacted to implement President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state-of-the-nation addresses, the election program, and
the instructions announced at the National Kurultai (Congress). During the
session, MPs reviewed 106 draft laws, of which 37 were adopted and 19 signed by
the Head of State.
«Overall, a significant amount of work has been done by the MPs
this year, and we must maintain this pace in the coming year. The focus, as
before, should be on the well-being of our citizens and the timely
implementation of the Head of State’s instructions. MPs are expected to visit the
regions to inform our voters about the importance of all the adopted laws and
the ongoing work. At the same time, we must personally verify how the already
adopted laws are being implemented on the ground,» noted Yerlan Koshanov,
Chairperson of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.
