Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Mikhail Mishustin discuss prospects for Kazakh-Russian partnership

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, who is expected to take part in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Digital Almaty 2025 forum. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for developing Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, with a particular focus on strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including within the EAEU. The Head of State noted the importance of implementing the agreements reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Astana last November. Mikhail Mishustin confirmed readiness to implement the tasks set and shared the outcomes of the negotiations between the government delegations of the two countries. President Tokayev accepted the invitation from the President of Russia to attend events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.

«During Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan, a regional forum was successfully held in Ufa. This year, we have planned to hold another forum in Oral, Kazakhstan. I believe this format of cooperation undoubtedly brings valuable results,» Tokayev noted.

«The regional forum is very important for us. The regions of Russia directly interact with many regions of Kazakhstan. As you said, this is a very important format, and we will continue to do everything we can to enhance its effectiveness. Kazakhstan is an ally of the Russian Federation. Our relations are built on the principles of friendship and mutual respect,» Mishustin said.
