A jet fuel production plant will be built in Kazakhstan with a
projected capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year and estimated investment of about $200 million. Three existing oil refineries
are set to undergo modernization, while a fourth one with a capacity of 10
million tonnes per year will be constructed. By the end of the year, a major gas processing plant with a capacity of
2.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas is expected to be commissioned. Plans
also include the construction of a coal-to-gas facility capable of producing 2
billion cubic meters of fuel annually. Thus, the country intends to increase
processing capacity.
«The
implementation of the investment program will increase not only
coal production by 1.4 times and iron ore by 1.8 times, but also concentrate
production by 1.7 times, and rolled steel output by 2.3
times. A new casting and rolling complex with a capacity of 4 million tonnes will
also be launched,» said
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik
Zhumangarin.
Kazakhstan is launching gallium production lines. This material is used, among other things, in mobile phones, computer chips, and other high-tech industries. The implementation of projects to produce polyethylene, butadiene, and urea will increase product value by up to 20 times. Therefore, it is important to ensure a stable and reliable raw material supply chain.
«It is
essential to ensure transparent and stable conditions for the supply of
affordable polymer raw materials to the domestic market for subsequent
processing by local
companies. The Ministry of Industry must present a
specific pool of projects for the further processing of polymer products,» stated Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas
Bektenov.
