The units of the Kazakh Emergency Situations
Ministry will be equipped with state-of-the-art drones and water discharge
devices. The corresponding decree was signed by the country’s Prime Minister
Alikhan Smailov. Currently, rescuers have access to 27 drones, along with 12
water sprayers used for combating wildfires. Overall, the ministry’s air fleet
comprises 34 multifunctional aircraft. Nevertheless, the fires and other emergencies
that have occurred this year have highlighted the insufficiency of this number.
Therefore, the Kazakh government is taking additional measures to further equip
the Emergencies Ministry units with specialized devices.
“There are plans to purchase 71 unmanned
aerial vehicles and five water discharge devices for the aerial fleet of the
Emergencies Ministry. For this purpose, over 633 million tenge will be
allocated from the government’s reserve. This acquisition of new equipment aims
to enhance the efficiency of the relevant units in responding to both natural
and man-made emergencies,” said Dinara Alimova, Press Secretary to the Kazakh
Prime Minister.
