The diagnostic card
for technical inspections is being transformed into a digital format in
Kazakhstan. Domestic drivers will no longer be required to carry a physical
document verifying their vehicle inspection. Instead, it will be stored within
their personal accounts on the e-government mobile application. The preparatory
work is currently being carried out by the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and
Infrastructure Development together with the National Information Technologies.
It is worth noting that in Kazakhstan, digital documents hold equivalent legal
status as their paper counterparts.
“IT specialists are currently conducting
technical work and have already developed the service. Its pilot version will
be available on the eGov Mobile app, tentatively by September 1 of the current
year, following the integration works. According to the project plan, the
digital version of the document will be stored within the inspection agencies
database, enabling real-time verification of its availability,” said Meruyert
Ibrayeva, spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure
Development.
