Kazakh President attends City of Working Professions festival

Today, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the City of Working Professions festival. The large-scale event marked the launch of the Year of Working Professions, as declared by the Head of State. The EXPO exhibition area brought together future specialists, vocational and technical education institutions, and employers. For young people, the festival provides a valuable opportunity to explore career paths, gain insights into various professions, and learn about their prospects in a visual and interactive format. The event features 40 interactive exhibition zones showcasing over 200 specialties. President Tokayev reviewed training programs for specialists in industries such as energy, mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, construction, and agriculture. He noted that qualified specialists are now in high demand, particularly for major projects such as the construction of a nuclear power plant. During his conversation with young people, the Head of State underscored that all work deserves respect and called on them to work diligently while fostering unity and harmony in the country.

«We pursue the ideology of «unity in diversity.» Though we represent different nationalities and faiths, we are one society, one people. I urge all of you to embrace this profound process. Only on this foundation can we achieve success,» Tokayev noted.

The Head of State also commented on the situation around Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability as the country’s foremost value.

«There is a lot of discussion about Ukraine these days. From the very beginning, we have advocated for ending the war and reaching an agreement through diplomatic negotiations. Our position is becoming a reality, as two major powers have begun a political dialogue. This is a positive trend that will also benefit Kazakhstan. Therefore, we will support it as much as possible,» Tokayev added.
