The Kazakh batyr distinguished himself during the assault on Königsberg. During the battle, he threw a grenade into the hatch of an enemy tank but was killed in the explosion. For his heroism, Tulen Kabilov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of Glory 3rd Class, and several medals. His bravery is still remembered today, a street in Kaliningrad bears his name, and a local museum features an exhibit dedicated to him.

«Of course, we have always honored the memory of Tulen Kabilov and will continue to pass it down from generation to generation - the memory of a remarkable Hero of the Soviet Union, a great son of the Kazakh people. Every year, on April 9, on the eve of the storming of Königsberg, classroom hours are held in every class at the school, dedicated to the hero’s memory. We talk about his heroic deed, his life story, and the honors and awards he received,» said Tamara Kalmykova, the principal of school No. 14 in Kaliningrad.

«We receive visits and inquiries from search teams from Kazakhstan, including members of the Maıdan Zholy unit. Last year, we here in Kaliningrad managed to locate the remains of fallen soldiers from Kazakhstan. Military awards were also found, and thanks to your search teams, we were able to identify their relatives. The families came to Kaliningrad, and the awards were presented to them,» said the head of the «Conscience» search team Ruslan Khissamov.
