Kazakh composer receives one of UK’s oldest and prestigious awards

The Silver Medal of the Worshipful Company of Musicians in London was awarded to composer Rakhat-Bi Abdyssagin, making him the first Kazakh recipient of one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious honors. Established in the 19th century, this award is presented annually to the most outstanding young musicians. The award ceremony took place in the UK capital. Notably, the Kazakh composer, pianist, and Bolashak scholarship recipient has composed over 150 musical works, which are performed in renowned concert halls across Europe, Asia, and the United States. This year, the world premiere of his opera The Bruce was held in four UK cathedrals. Additionally, the prestigious German publisher Springer has released Abdyssagin’s book titled Quantum Mechanics and Avant-Garde Music.
