Kazakh citizens are actively participating in challenges
dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Abai Kunanbaiuly. Social media contests are
gaining popularity, with many users, including politicians, public figures,
media personalities, students, and ordinary citizens, showcasing their
knowledge of the poetry of the great Kazakh thinker and philosopher.
Among the admirers of Abai’s works is IT engineer Pavel
Yerofeyev from the West Kazakhstan region. Fluent in the state language, has was
recently recognized at a national competition held as part of the celebrations
marking the Kazakh poet’s anniversary. Yerofeyev says he finds inspiration for
his spiritual growth in every line of his favorite poet.
On August 10, Abai Day, Yerofeyev will take part in festive
events in the homeland of the great thinker and philosopher. On the same day,
the results of another challenge will be announced, in which Kazakh citizens reveal
their 10 favorite books.
