Short-track athlete Olga Tikhonova has completed her performance at the Beijing Games. According to the judges, at a distance of 1,500 meters among women, she violated the rule due to which she received a penalty.
“The distance went well. I could have handled it in time. The judge decided that I also violated, and I was disqualified,” said Olga Tikhonova, an athlete of Kazakhstan Short Track Team.
Kazakh athlete Zakhar Kuchin competed in alpine skiing in slalom. In the final protocol, he was ranked 36th. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan skiers Nadezhda Stepashkina and Kseniya Shalygina took 10th place in the second semi-final in the team sprint.
Two athletes from Kazakhstan Nadezhda Morozova and Ekaterina Aidova will perform on the 14th day of the competition. In the final race, they will have to overcome a distance of 1,000 meters. In total, 34 athletes represent our country at the Beijing Olympics. The games will last until February 20.
