On the sidelines of the CIS Heads of State Council meeting in Dushanbe, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed the upcoming state visit of the Kazakh President to Russia, scheduled for November 12. President Tokayev noted that the meeting will mark an important milestone in the strategic partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
«Kazakhstan and Russia are destined for an enduring alliance, strategic partnership, and, ultimately, friendship. The indicators are positive. Ahead of my upcoming visit to Russia, we have achieved a high volume of mutual trade, which reached $28 billion last year. Russia is one of the key investors in our economy. Over the years, Russian businesses have invested more than $26 billion in Kazakhstan’s economy,» noted Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
«We highly value our relations with Kazakhstan. I can confidently say that we share a special relationship, not only thanks to our personal friendly ties, but also because Kazakhstan and Russia have, to a certain extent, been initiators of integration processes in the post-Soviet space,» said President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
