On the
sidelines of the Regional Ecological Summit
in Astana, President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev held a
meeting with
the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili. The parties
discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral relations. The Head of State emphasized that
Georgia is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the South
Caucasus and confirmed his readiness to give new momentum to cooperation. The Presidents
highlighted the need to expand trade and economic ties, in particular through
the implementation of joint infrastructure projects and the effective use of
the transit and transport potential of both countries. The
interlocutors also exchanged views on current issues on the global and regional
agenda.
