Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took
part in the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW)
Summit. The event was also attended by the leaders of the United Arab Emirates
(UAE), Azerbaijan, Rwanda, Uzbekistan and Prime Ministers of Malaysia, New
Zealand and Finland, as well as politicians, leaders in renewable energy,
technological development and innovation, investors and entrepreneurs. Notably,
the summit in Abu Dhabi is one of the leading global platforms focused on
promoting investments in green technologies and renewable energy sources, as
well as seeking innovative solutions to achieve the UN Sustainable Development
Goals. As part of the event, the UAE capital also hosted a ceremony to present
a prestigious award recognizing outstanding achievements in the field of
sustainable development.

Earlier, President Tokayev held talks with UAE
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and representatives of the
business community. The Head of State expressed his gratitude for the warm
welcome and hospitality, emphasizing that the relations between the two
countries are developing in a spirit of friendship, trust, and mutual respect. President
Tokayev also extended an invitation to the UAE President to visit Astana. Notably,
the UAE ranks among the top ten largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan, with
direct investment inflows into the country’s economy more than doubling last
year. The two countries aim to bring bilateral trade turnover to $1 billion.
