The Pavlodar region is among the leaders in the country in terms of investment attraction. Last year alone, more than one trillion tenge was invested in the region’s economy, marking an increase of almost 50%. This was reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev by the region’s governor, Assain Baikhanov. The region is experiencing dynamic industrial development, it produces more than half of the country’s coal, generates over 40% of its electricity, and accounts for 60% of its ferroalloys. Gross agricultural output also showed a 10% increase. The region ranks first in the application of water-saving irrigation technologies. The President was also briefed on the implementation of his instructions regarding the construction of a new bridge across the Irtysh river and GRES-3, as well as the implementation of the Data Center Valley project.
Kyzylorda region to implement 48 investment projects
The Head of State also received the governor of the
Kyzylorda region, Murat Yergeshbayev, who reported on the region’s development.
Over the next three years, 48 investment projects worth nearly two trillion
tenge are planned for implementation in the region, and this year work will
begin on the construction of 14 major facilities worth around one trillion
tenge. In Kyzylorda, construction is also underway on a multidisciplinary
hospital, a perinatal center, a new drama theatre, and a modern library. In addition,
the region is upgrading its transport infrastructure. The first stage of the
project to expand the Kyzylorda–Aktobe highway has already been launched; it is
part of the Western Europe–Western China international transport corridor. Overall,
138 km of roads and bridges are scheduled for repair in the region this year.
