Kazakhstan and Belgium are marking a milestone in the history of bilateral cooperation, which is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two states, reported the relevant ministry. It bears noting that Belgium is one of the important trade partners of Kazakhstan among the European Union member states.
“Last year alone, the volume of mutual trade exceeded US$419 million. In 2021, the gross inflow of direct investments from Belgium to Kazakhstan exceeded US$1 billion. There are about 70 enterprises in Kazakhstan operating with the participation of Belgian companies,” Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
Along with political and economic relations of the two states, cultural and humanitarian cooperation is also developing fruitfully.
“Belgian readers were presented with numerous works by Kazakh writers translated into French and Dutch, including the work of the great Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbaiuly. In addition, the plays based on the works of the well-known Belgian writer and playwright Maurice Maeterlinck are staged in Kazakh theaters with great success,” the statement says.
The Foreign Ministry also notes that over 30 years of effective bilateral interaction, Kazakh-Belgian relations have become an example of successful and mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the citizens of both countries.
