The initiatives of President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced at the National Kurultai (Congress) continue to
attract interest and spark discussion in foreign media. International outlets
highlight the systemic nature of the proposed constitutional reforms and their
role in the country’s further political modernization. In particular, Moldova’s
news agency Infotag reports that President Tokayev presented a broad package of
constitutional initiatives envisaging changes in the structure of power and
updating the institutional model of public administration.
Uzbekistan’s Daryo.uz
focuses on the proposal to introduce a new position - Vice President of
Kazakhstan. As the media outlet notes, this initiative is proposed to be
enshrined in the Constitution and is viewed as a logical continuation of the
established political structure. The Vice President would be appointed by the
President with the consent of Parliament, while the scope of responsibilities
would be determined by the Head of State. Foreign publications emphasize that
the proposed changes are aimed at optimizing public administration mechanisms
and forming a stable model of political succession.
