International AI Center in Kazakhstan to become foundation of AI ecosystem

The year 2024 has been significant for Kazakhstan in the field of artificial intelligence development. The AI Committee was established, the AI Development Concept was approved, and work on the corresponding draft law began. The KazLLM language model, created last year, will give a new boost to the industry and become the foundation for a range of technological solutions. New neural networks are already being developed based on it, including virtual assistants for eGov and other platforms. A key milestone in the country’s AI movement will be the Alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center aimed at developing technologies in key sectors such as science, industry, creative industry, and public services.

«The center will also contribute to the creation of an AI ecosystem to attract investment and support startups. Currently, the Ministry is in negotiations to set up offices for companies such as Telegram, TON, Tether, Indrive, Google, and others at the center for conducting research projects and developing new AI products. The Digital Almaty 2025 forum is an excellent platform for attracting BigTech companies to the International AI Center,» noted Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Development Committee, Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry.

The Digital Almaty international forum will take place on January 31 and February 1. It will be an important stage in finding solutions for economic development and showcasing advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence. The forum will bring together heads of government from EAEU countries, subsoil users, business representatives, and IT industry professionals. Over 40,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event. Domestic experts and leaders of global IT giants will share their experience in implementing AI. In total, more than 200 speakers from 21 countries will participate in the forum.
