Kazakhstan
will increase the capacity of its seaports to 30 million tonnes by 2030. To achieve this, the country is developing infrastructure to boost
international transportation. A number of projects
are currently being implemented in the ports of Aktau, Kuryk, and
Bautino, as well as in
the Sarzha, Yersai, and Northern
terminals. According to the country’s Ministry of Transport, these facilities are creating additional container terminal
capacities, upgrading loading equipment, enhancing logistics, as well as simplifying customs and administrative procedures.
Dredging works are being carried out in the water area of Kuryk port, with similar plans for
the Aktau seaport. Meanwhile, a vessel traffic management system operates in
the water area of Bautino port, ensuring maritime navigation safety and
reducing the risk of marine accidents. These efforts are part of comprehensive measures taken within the Trans-Caspian
International Transport Route development,
aimed at meeting the growing demand for cargo transportation along the
corridor. Notably, cargo volumes along the Middle Corridor increased by 62 percent in the first seven months, reaching 2.5 million tonnes.
