The industrial production volume of Astana has
increased by seven percent. Investments in the capital have also grown, with about
1.3 trillion tenge attracted to the country’s main city since the beginning of
the year. Meanwhile, the gross regional product (GRP) reached 5.5 trillion
tenge in the first half of the year, with small and medium-sized businesses
(SMEs) accounting for 72 percent of its structure. This was reported to Prime
Minister Olzhas Bektenov during his Astana working trip. In particular,
Bektenov visited the industrial park, where he reviewed the development of
enterprises in metallurgy, light and construction industries, automotive
manufacturing, and railway engineering. One of the enterprises specializes in
the production of telecommunications equipment, carrying out a full production
cycle - from software development to assembly and packaging of finished
products. The company’s development plans include entering foreign markets,
such as Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, and Arab countries.
Bektenov emphasized the importance of such enterprises for reducing dependence
on imports and creating conditions for increasing exports of high-tech
products.
