Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart
Tokayev met with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, who arrived on a
working visit to Kazakhstan. The Head of State highlighted that this visit will
give an additional impetus to the development of trade and economic relations
between Astana and Amsterdam. For his part, Rutte praised the level of
bilateral partnership and advocated for the intensification of practical
cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands. The parties thoroughly
discussed ways to strengthen trade and economic, energy, and investment
cooperation, as well as enhance contacts in the fields of transport,
innovation, nuclear energy, agriculture, healthcare, climate, and water
resource management. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining
dialogue within cooperation with the European Union. Notably, the Netherlands stands
as the largest investor in the Kazakh economy, with direct investments
exceeding $120 billion.
