A solemn flower-laying ceremony was held at the Independence
Monument in Almaty, where citizens and public figures gathered to honor the
memory of those whose names are inscribed in the country’s history. According
to political scientists, the establishment of civil society foundations is one
of the key achievements of independent Kazakhstan. Today, public councils and
civil alliances are actively developing across the country, serving as
important tools for interaction. A significant aspect of this development is
the «Listening State» concept, which emphasizes the government's responsiveness
to citizens’ requests.
«According to this concept, the election of rural mayors has
been introduced. Starting January 1, 2025, the election of mayors of districts
and cities of regional significance will be implemented nationwide. This
holiday also holds unifying significance. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme
Council included not only representatives of the Kazakh people but also
representatives of all ethnic groups living in the Republic of Kazakhstan,» said
Kairzhan Abdykhalykov, a PhD holder in International Relations.
Over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has achieved
significant success and strengthened its position on the global stage. The
country is not only a full member of leading international organizations but
has also established itself as a pioneer of various global initiatives.
