This year marks the
105th anniversary of the country’s largest news agency. To commemorate the
occasion, a photo exhibition titled ‘The History of Kazakhstan in Photographs
of Kazinform’ was organized in Astana. The unique exhibition features more than
180 rare and archival photographs from the agency. It is divided into six
thematic sections, each showcasing the most significant events in the life of
society and the country over more than a century - from the pre-war years to
the formation of Independent Kazakhstan and the development of the capital.
«The distinctive feature of the exhibition is that many of
the photographs are being displayed for the first time. These images had been
kept in archives for many years. In particular, we found very important
documents and photographs belonging to Kazinform and KazTAG, both abroad and in
our own archives,» noted Nagashybek Aldan, Managing Director of the Kazinform International News Agency.
