Great Steppe treasures to be showcased at exhibition in France

The French public will have the opportunity to explore the centuries-old history and rich culture of Kazakhstan. The Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts in Paris will soon host an exhibition showcasing the treasures of the Great Steppe. It will feature five sections and 35 rare artifacts, including the Tobol thinker, items from Botai culture, the Golden Man, bronze lamps of the commander Amir Timur, and other relics. The artifacts from the collection of the Kazakh National Museum and the Azret Sultan State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum reflect key periods of nomadic civilization from the third millennium BC to the 18th century. Notably, the exhibition will run until the end of March 2025.

«Another unique feature of the exhibition is its immersive content. This means that the French public will not only be able to see the artifacts on display, but will also experience the spirit and unique flavor of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage through virtual reality technology. The atmosphere of each historical stage of the Kazakh people will be enhanced for visitors with the fragrance of wormwood and specially selected music,» noted Kumar Zhunussov, Head of the International Relations Department at the Kazakh National Museum.
