Kazakh choreographers conduct masterclasses for Japanese students

The Kazakh ballet school has established a solid reputation in the international arena. The choreographic education of domestic artists is highly regarded in Europe and Asia for its combination of classical traditions and new trends in contemporary choreography. For the second consecutive year, a Japanese ballet school has come to Astana to learn from local teachers. Masterclasses for students and teachers are held at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, which is the largest specialized educational institution not only in Kazakhstan but also in all of Central Asia. In these classes, students from Japan master the techniques of classical and folk stage dances.

«We actively collaborate with international schools, as this represents not only   the image of our Academy and, first and foremost, the image of our country. We want to showcase that we truly have much to be proud of. The most important aspect is that we have established a strong professional ballet school. We have been collaborating with Japan since 2018, particularly with the Sofia Ballet Academy. Furthermore, the Yoshiko Takagi Ballet School has been visiting us for the past two years,» said Bibigul Nussipzhanova, Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.

«We came here to learn the purity of classical dance, and I have a deep love for Kazakhstan and its capital Astana. The teachers here possess a very high level of expertise, and I wanted Japanese children to study specifically at your academy,» said Yoshie Narisawa, Director of the Yoshiko Takagi Ballet School in Japan.

«We really enjoy studying here in Kazakhstan. They teach the fundamentals of classical dance, and while we have small studios in Japan, the ones here are spacious, so you can practice freely,» said Yuri Munechika, a student at the Yoshiko Takagi Ballet School in Japan.
