Almaty has become a center of technological attraction.
GITEX AI Kazakhstan, the largest event in the field of artificial intelligence and digital
technologies, brought together over
300 companies and startups, as well as hundreds of investors from 60 countries.
The Kazakh metropolis has officially taken the digital baton from the UAE,
where the GITEX ecosystem has been a hallmark for more than 40 years. The pavilions
of the exhibition venue Atakent were
transformed into a giant hub, offering a space to discuss the future of the
digital economy – from AI and fintech to cybersecurity, Industry 4.0, and smart energy – as well as the practical launch of new partnerships.
«For us, this is a
clear indication of Kazakhstan’s role as a digital hub in Central Eurasia.
Through such forums, we can further enhance the country’s investment appeal,
attract major investors, and enable our startups to develop and scale into new
markets,» noted Nurmakhan Zakarin, Director of the Astana Hub Participant Support Office.
«Before I have been to GITEX Dubai, I have been to
GITEX to Berlin. I also have GITEX in other countries. But I think this time,
first time, to come to Kazakhstan. So, before I’ve never come to Kazakhstan.
It’s my first time, it’s amazing,» shared Steven
Fei, GITEX AI Kazakhstan visitor, China.
For major IT companies, the exhibition serves as a
showcase for new technologies, while for startups it represents a real
opportunity to present themselves and attract investment. The pavilions feature
ready-made AI solutions. Among them is a Kazakhstan-developed application – an AI platform
designed for school students that supports psychologists and career guidance
specialists. The neural network analyzes children’s test results, identifies
risk areas, and provides recommendations to professionals. The project has
already reached over one million users. Another development is «Smart Eye», a
specialized artificial intelligence and computer vision solution created by AIQ
for industrial safety and the optimization of production processes. The system
analyzes video footage in real time.
«For example, on construction sites, safety monitoring systems can detect early signs of fire and immediately trigger alerts if something goes wrong. This helps reduce risks associated with unsafe operations and optimize production processes,» said AIQ company representative Larisa Tagarieva.
According to experts, Kazakhstan is not merely hosting an
international forum that serves as a platform for dialogue, investment
attraction, and the development of an innovation-driven economy – it is
reinforcing its status as a regional hub for technology and artificial
intelligence.
